What Leaders Are Saying

In reading the words of industry leaders featured in this issue, I found at least one common thread: the relationship between networking and open discussion and achieving success.

XL Insurance’s Paul Tuhy says, “It’s when people open up in a group setting that I feel I’m really doing my job well…. People express their thoughts and we are able to discuss them as a group, brainstorm, and foster innovative ideas. That’s how we improve as an organization.” (full article)

In his first of four columns for us this year, Crawford & Company’s Jeffrey Bowman advises adjusters to “partner with a mentor who can pass on his or her expertise and help you develop your career.” (full article)

And when asked about the traits it takes to succeed, NYU’s Michael Liebowitz says, “Be a member of professional organizations so you can network, be it CLM or RIMS.” (full article)

This call to action is reflected in our own organization. Last month, the National Workers’ Compensation Coalition, a workers’ compensation defense association focused on sharing best practices, networking, and educational programming, merged with ours, strengthening our resources even more. This month, we also offer our biggest networking and educational event of the year at our annual conference in San Diego.

The CLM provides you with many opportunities for networking and discussion. Will you listen to our top leaders’ advice and join in?

The decision is yours.
